PDST National Write a Poem Competition 2022-2023

PDST is now taking submissions for the National Write a Poem Competition 2022-2023 under two categories: Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle. We hope that this popular competition will encourage young writers to compose poetry, and we hope that it will assist teachers in supporting the writing of poetry in the classroom and beyond.

PDST Leading the Inclusion of EAL Learners in Primary Schools- Online Workshops

These interactive online workshops will support all
mainstream and SET/EAL teachers to lead the inclusion
of EAL children in their schools. The workshops provide
an online forum for teachers to share experiences and
practice supporting EAL children. It explores the
identities of our EAL Learners and what their needs may
be, while demonstrating effective language learning
pedagogies, resources and supports.

PDST Supports for Digital Leaders in Primary Schools

This webinar is designed to raise awareness of all the digital technology supports available for principals. deputy principals, digital learning team members and ICT post holders. During the webinar we will explore

  • Resources available to school leaders regarding digital learning planning.
  • Supports available for digital infrastructure including broadband and purchasing frameworks.
  • Policies, grants and special initiatives relating to digital technologies.

PDST LINKING MATHS TO UNPLUGGED CODING

“Linking Mathematics with Unplugged Coding” is a 2 hour hands-on workshop which will explore the links between unplugged coding, computational thinking and the Mathematics curriculum. The workshop will include practical ideas and resources that can be used at all class levels and in all school contexts. This course does not require any prior knowledge or experience of coding in order to participate.
