23AUT39 Chatter Matters: Supporting parents to support their children's oral language development in junior primary
This is a one hour webinar introducing Chatter Matters which is a 6 week oral language programme aimed at parents and children of Junior Infants and can be delivered by HSCL Coordinators and/ or teachers.
The aim of the programme is to build parent’s confidence and ability to help develop their children’s oral language.
The underlying principle of the programme is that children learn to talk and then talk to learn.
Participants will be able to:
• Explain the importance of parent-child relationship for oral language development
• Explore activities for supporting oral language development with parents
• Support parents in identifying children who may require additional intervention
This webinar is suitable for Primary School Leaders, Teachers, SETs and HSCL Coordinators.
