24SUM09 Getting Active in Physical Education
Teachers will be equipped with new ideas and a fresh outlook and will thus be enabled to establish a meaningful connection between skills learned on this course and the content and quality of their teaching in the classroom. Strategies and resources to engage in the School Assessment and School Self Evaluation will be explored.
Participants will become more familiar with the content of the PE curriculum and the opportunities within its delivery to incorporate Literacy and Numeracy activities.
They will learn how to teach PE using a variety of approaches and strategies in the areas of:
· Athletics
· Dance
· Outdoor and Adventure Activities
· Games
· Gymnastics
· Aquatic Proficiency and Safety
Participants will be encouraged to actively take part in activities and to discuss the importance of self-assessing the delivery of PE within their own school on an individual and whole school basis to ensure the continued improvement of the PE curriculum.
Participants will be more confident in their delivery of the PE strands and will be armed with a wide variety of new ideas and resources.
