INTO: Creating a Culture of Support

INTO: Creating a Culture of Support

Dear Principal and Deputy Principal,

INTO District 8 is delighted to sponsor a workshop for school leaders with Autistic Children in Mainstream and or Special Classes and those embarking on opening a Special Class.

Join Mary Mc Kenna in Dublin West Education Centre on Wednesday 12th March at 3.30 for an overview of how to create a culture of support for both pupils and colleagues.

We will explore ways to avoid unnecessary struggles from the start by setting up the environment to support your neurodivergent pupils’ regulation, both sensory and emotional. This will support energy and ease as opposed to frustration and burn-out.

We will strive to make sense of a role that didn’t exist in our schools thirty years ago and focus on how best to support both our pupils and staff to thrive in this new venture.

Mary is a primary school teacher, lecturer, author and Early Years Consultant with The Children’s Clinic Sandycove. Having set up and taught in Ireland’s first Early Intervention Class for Autistic Children until her retirement in 2018, Mary brings great wisdom and advice from her extensive experience in the field. Mary continues to support teachers through Summer Courses, seminars and communities of practice.

Opportunity for catch up with colleagues over a cuppa and sandwiches from 3:00pm!
Registration through Dublin West Education Centre website.

Hope you can join us.
