25AUT52 Neurodivergent-Friendly, Active Yards Webinar Series for SNAs: AUTUMN: Beyond the Bell – Supporting Peer Integration and Inclusive Play on the Yard

25AUT52 Neurodivergent-Friendly, Active Yards Webinar Series for SNAs: AUTUMN: Beyond the Bell – Supporting Peer Integration and Inclusive Play on the Yard

The school yard is more than just a place for children to run and release energy—it’s a vital social stage where friendships form, confidence grows, and a sense of belonging can flourish. But for many neurodivergent children or those with additional needs, break times can be overwhelming, isolating, or confusing. That’s where the support of a skilled and compassionate Special Needs Assistant (SNA) becomes truly transformative.

This four-part seasonal webinar series is designed to empower SNAs with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to create inclusive, neurodivergent-friendly yard environments all year round. From the first crisp bell of autumn to the lively energy of summer days, each webinar explores how yard time can be turned into a meaningful, supportive experience for every child.
Rooted in empathy, inclusion, and play-based strategies, the series will highlight:

  • The SNA’s powerful role in fostering connection and co-play
  • Practical adaptations for games, activities, and social situations
  • Techniques to support emotional regulation and peer relationships on the yard

Whether you're a new SNA or a seasoned professional, this series offers seasonal insights, real-life strategies, and a fresh perspective on the often-overlooked power of play. Because when we create active yards with inclusive hearts, every child has the chance to feel seen, supported, and part of the group.

AUTUMN: As the new school year begins, playtime offers more than just a break—it’s a key opportunity for social growth and inclusion. This webinar focuses on how SNAs can facilitate meaningful peer interactions for neurodivergent students during yard time. Discover how to move “beyond the bell” and make every moment count through structured yet flexible play, peer modelling, and co-regulation strategies that promote inclusive fun for all.

This webinar is suitable for Primary & Post Primary SNAs.
